Jessica completed her bachelor's degree in sociology at Radford University. She earned a master's degree in educational leadership and policy studies from Virginia Tech while serving as the graduate assistant for orientation. Jessica has more than a decade of experience in the field of orientation, transition and retention at the University of Missouri and Virginia Tech. She joined the department as an academic and career advisor in 2015. Jessica advises first-year engineering students. 

Career Highlights:

  • Employed a student-center approach to academic advising
  • Coordinating, implementing and assessing Virginia Tech's multi-session new student orientation program that served approximately 5,000 freshmen, 750 external transfer students and 8,000 family members annually
  • Hiring, training and supervising approximately 500 undergraduate student leaders
  • Coordinating and supervising the distribution of over 950 University of Missouri family weekend ticket orders which generated approximately $100,000 in departmental revenue
