What is Interdisciplinary Expo?

ID Expo is a showcase event for student teams from both IDProjects and IDCapstone courses to exhibit their work and discuss their projects with industry sponsors, faculty members, prospective employers, and community members.

How can I participate?

  • Attend the event. ID Expo is open to the public. Community members are welcome to explore the designs of interdisciplinary teams.
  • Talk to team members. If you’re considering sponsoring your own interdisicplinary project or mentoring a team, ID Expo offers the ideal opportunity to engage with students and observe their achievements up close.
  • Become a judge. As a judge, you attend ID Expo, review projects, speak with student teams, and offer professional feedback. You also choose winners for the prizes offered each year. Interested? Contact Robin Ott, rso@vt.edu.

When is the next Interdisciplinary Expo?

The Department of Engineering Education will host the next ID Expo on Wednesday, April 28, 2027.
